Kohiki is a traditional style of pottery with a long history Japan tableware culture. It has a shiny dark clay body covered in porcelain, fired in high temperature, each piece can be undecorated or decorated with an iron-based underglaze, giving an earthy, simple, and natural feeling to the pieces. Kohiki pottery develops more character with continued usage – these changes are known as ‘keshiki,’ which means, appreciation of scenery.
