The woodcut printmaker Hiroshige II (1826–1869) borrowed this sharp division of foreground and background from his celebrated mentor, Hiroshige. The five images here feature Lilies at Senju in the Eastern Capital, Cherry Blossoms at Koganei in the Eastern Capital, Camellia at Ueno Shimotera in the Eastern Capital, Rabbit-Ear Irises at the Kinoshita River in the Eastern Capital, and Hydrangea at the Flower Garden at Asakusa in the Eastern Capital.
