The 'Suribachi' (Japanese term for a grinding bowl) is used for Japanese cooking to crush different ingredients such as herbs and seeds. This little ceramic dish is designed with a rough surface that makes it perfect for grinding and crush ginger, garlic and spices. Each one comes with a little wooden grinder.
The Suribachi is a pottery mortar with a single mouth. It is also recommended for making your favourite sauce and dressing. Both the glaze on the outside and the shaving inside the bowl are manually crafted by artisans. The Surikogi has a string hook on top of the pestle, which makes hanging and drying easier. Handmade in Japan.
